Health Insurance through MIChild is available for all of our students.  The premium is only $5.00 per month and is designed for families with limited incomes.  You can get more information at 1-888-988-6300

Michigan Diaper and Incontinence Supplies Program  Medicaid and Children's Special Health Care covers incontinence supplies for children three years and older that are incontinent.  Supplies include disposable diapers, blue pads and wipes.  Supplies and services are provided through Binson's Home Health Care.  If you are interested in enrolling call Binson's at 800-566-6117.  You will need your doctor's prescription.

Their goal is to help families obtain benefits, services and programs for all children and adults with mental retardation.  They provide mentally challenged children, adults and families with a variety of recreational opportunities.  There are also supports for family guidance, legislative information and advocacy.

Respite Care  734-425-9950

Respite means relief.  The respite care program offers in and out-of-home care to families with developmentally disabled family members.  Respite care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to assist you in times of need.  Options include: In-home respite, out-of-home respite, in-home therapy for behavioral challenges and case managers to help link families to resources that are available in the community.  Families may use the service for emergencies, vacations, stress relief, appointments and recreation.  A sliding fee scale is used, no family is denied service due to ability to pay.

As summer approaches, several of you will be asking about summer activities for your son or daughter. If your child’s primary disability is SXI or SMI, you do have the option of the extended school year at Madison.

For students that do not qualify for summer programming, there are other options.
