Wyandotte Public Schools

Madison School is a "Center Based Program" for special needs children. Students come to us from the seventeen downriver school districts. Students that attend Madison School must be referred by their resident school district.

We enhance the lives of children with the following disabilities: Trainable Mentally Impaired, Severely Mentally Impaired, Severely Multiply Impaired and Autistic. Students range in age from three to fourteen years old.

Our mission is to educate all children and help them accomplish individualized life outcome goals. We work to achieve a positive and successful classroom environment that will help students transition to new schools, community and work environments.

We offer support services through speech and language therapy, occupational and physical therapy. We also have a school psychologist and behavioral intervention specialist. We also afford the students the opportunity to learn through community-based instruction. Several store and business sites give the students opportunities to learn in their natural environment.
